Nov. 11, 2017, 2016 Chinese Best Hospitals Ranking and 2016 Specialty Reputation Rankings of Chinese Hospitals were released in Shanghai by Institute of Hospital Management Fudan University. The Second Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University (SAHZU) ranks No. 20 in both of the two rankings. Since 2010 when Institute of Hospital Management Fudan University release its first hospital ranking, SAHZU, under the leadership of President Wang Jian’an, has improved from No. 52 to No. 20 on the Best Hospitals Honor Roll. This honor belongs to all SAHZU staff and the friends and patients who have always trusted and supported SAHZU.
Hosted by China Federation for Hospital Quality Control Circle (QCC) and Tsinghua University Hospital Management Research Institute, the 5th National Quality Control Circle Competition of Chinese Hospitals was held ceremoniously at Changchun International Conference Center from September 22 to 24, 2017. The launching ceremony of National Colorectal Cancer Cohort Project was held in the city of Hangzhou on September 19, 2017. The project led by Prof. Ding Kefeng from SAHZU is approved funding award as "precision medicine" special program of National 13th five-year Major Research and Development Plan. Professor Yan Min from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University (SAHZU) won the Research Innovation Award for Clinical Medicine and became the first female anesthetist awarded that prize in China.

The 21st International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders was held in Vancouver, Canada June 4-8, 2017. Professor Baorong Zhang, the Chair of Neurology Department of SAHZU, was successfully elected as the branch officer for Asia-Pacific Region of International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, becoming the first professor from China awarded the position. Meanwhile, he was also honored with “Outstanding Contribution Award” for his contribution during 2013-2017 serving as standing committee member of Asia-Pacific Region Committee.
