Professor Baorong Zhang is Elected as the Branch Officer for Asia-Pacific Region of IPMDS

The 21st International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders was held in Vancouver, Canada June 4-8, 2017. Professor Baorong Zhang, the Chair of Neurology Department of SAHZU, was successfully elected as the branch officer for Asia-Pacific Region of International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, becoming the first professor from China awarded the position. Meanwhile, he was also honored with “Outstanding Contribution Award” for his contribution during 2013-2017 serving as standing committee member of Asia-Pacific Region Committee.


International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society is the world’s most prestigious society in the field of Parkinson and Movement Disorder. It is divided into the branches of America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region according to regions, and both the head office and branch office are equipped with officers and standing committees. Prof. Zhang’s successful election will be more conductive to promote the internationalization of China in the discipline of Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.
