Prof. YAO Ke, Chair of Ophthalmology at SAHZU and of Chinese Ophthalmological Society, was awarded the Antonio Scarpa SOI Medal Lecture 2018 at the 98th SOI (Società Oftalmologica Italiana, Italian Society of Ophthalmology) International Congress on Nov. 28.
As the first Chinese Ophthalmologist granted by this greatest honor, Prof. YAO Ke extended his gratitude to the Italian Society of Ophthalmology and expressed his sincerest wish that more connection and communication could be established between Italian and Chinese ophthalmological society in future.
After the awarding ceremony, Prof. YAO Ke delivered a speech titled A Dream Comes True: Ab Interno Canaloplasty (ABiC) Combined with Cataract Surgery---One Year Report in front of about 600 Italian ophthalmologists who gave loudest applause for Prof. YAO.
Antonio Scarpa is a famous Italian ophthalmologist and scientist. In memory of him, the Italian Society of Ophthalmology uses his name to commend ophthalmologist with outstanding achievements world-wide.
