TAVR Using Neochord System Successfully Completed at SAHZU

Recently, the first 4 Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair using Neochord system in China were successfully performed by Prof. Jian’an WANG’s team at SAHZU. The 4 patients, 3 of whom are over 80 years old, all recovered well after the procedure with much less mitral valve regurgitation. This Neochord device enables minimally invasive implantation of artificial chordae using a catheter-based approach and the patient does not need to go on the heart-lung machine during the procedure. It could be used on patients with primary mitral regurgitation.
