On July 31, 2025, the International Ultrasound Medicine Alliance Committee (IUMAC) successfully convened its Plenary Committee Meeting online. During the session, two international guidelines spearheaded by Chair of SAHZU Ultrasound Medicine Prof. HUANG Pintong—the International Multidisciplinary Guidelines for Interventional Ultrasound in Tumor Diagnosis and Treatment and the Clinical Diagnostic Protocols for Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound in Thyroid Tumors—were unanimously approved for development by the entire committee.

Initiated and chaired by Prof. HUANG, IUMAC was established in May this year. As the first multinational collaborative platform in the ultrasound medicine field globally, IUMAC comprises members from 16 countries and regions worldwide. Its purpose is to advance the innovation and application of ultrasound medical technology, enhance global medical service levels, and contribute to human health.  

IUMAC is dedicated to establishing itself as a "global hub" in ultrasound medicine through resource integration, knowledge exchange, and cross-border cooperation. Its central mission encompasses three key dimensions: accelerating innovation and application of ultrasound medical technology, establishing standardized diagnosis and treatment protocols to enhance global healthcare quality, and building an international education system for training ultrasound specialists—all aimed at comprehensively elevating innovation capacity and practical expertise in ultrasound medicine.

By consolidating global resources, establishing knowledge-sharing platforms, and promoting recognition of international standards, the organization strives to improve technological innovation, standardize clinical practice, cultivate professionals, facilitate research translation, and optimize medical resource allocation globally.
