The ground-breaking ceremony of Xiaoshan campus of SAHZU was held Monday at the Zhujiaqiao area of Hangzhou's Xiaoshan district, marking the beginning of the construction of SAHZU's future main campus. The goal of the new hospital is to serve the people of Hangzhou with SAHZU's best healthcare services, as well as to leverage its strength to improve its brand influence in Zhejiang, even China.
Leaders from Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Health Commission and Xiaoshan District Government attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, SAHZU Director Prof. WANG Jian’an expressed his sincere wish for the new campus, stating that the new campus of SAHZU is not only built for Xiaoshan, Hangzhou or the Yangtze River Delta. Instead, it carries a mission to serve the whole country and embrace the world at the same time. SAHZU is determined to build the new headquarter as "a demonstration medical center of global level" and "a world pioneer of excellent medical service". It aims to "set an example of medical excellence", to "provide a cross-discipline platform", to "nurture clinical innovation and medical talents", and to "incubate world-class medical specialties". At the meantime, the new campus will definitely benefit the public and contribute to the social economy growth.
