Research Summary

Aging is one of the major problems of the society, and skin aging is the key scientific issue in plastic surgery research area, but it lacks strategies. According to our previous studies, Long-noncoding RNA-MALTA1 was related to skin aging, and its aging-regulation mechanism was mediated by TIMP and other cell-membrane connected proteins. However, the regulation effects of TIMPs showed multi-directional as inhibit or promote aging. As has been demonstrated by us, when TIMP1 combined with GPI, which is a cell-membrane anchor protein, they can inhibit cell proliferation, and promote apoptosis. Therefore, we hypothesize that MALTA1 regulates aging through TIMP1, which can be changed by TIMP1-GPI, and then influence the effects of anti-aging. So we plan to design the cell experiment, animal experiment, apply the trans-gene technology, gene-sequencing technology, try to figure out the mechanism of MALTA1 regulating skin aging through TIMP1-GPI, TIMP1 and other cell-membrane connected protein attending skin aging, and provide the new method for clinical anti-aging practice.
