Research Summary

Multidrug resistance is a serious problem in the treatment of breast cancer. Dr. He's previous study shows that miR-944 regulates the cisplatin resistance in breast cancer. AS miRNAs regulate genes expression through modulation of post-transcriptional activity, by binding to the 3’-untranslated region (UTR) of multiple target mRNAs in a sequence-specific manner, Dr. He speculates that miR-944 is associated with multidrug resistance by targeting multiple genes besides BNIP3. He plans to continue the investigation by using a variety of cellular and molecular biological technology, detecting the expression of the target genes, trying to reveal the pathway modulated by miR-944 involved in multi-chemoresistance, and provide a theoretical basis for the research of new target in prediction and reverse of multidrug resistance of breast cancer.
