One year after the Medtronic O-Arm imaging system and the StealthStation S8 surgical navigation system were installed in the operating rooms of SAHZU, SAHZU orthopedic surgeons have successfully completed one hundred procedures with their help.
SAHZU is the first in Zhejiang and one of the first in China to equip with these two systems. The O-Arm imaging system and the S8 navigation system by far are world's most advanced orthopedic surgical systems that can effectively improve the safety, accuracy and efficiency of orthopedic surgeries. Surgeons would be able to locate minor focal lesions to perform procedures, such as surgical treatment of osteoid osteoma, in a way that is more precise, easier, safer and less invasive compared to traditional approaches.
The bone tumor team of SAHZU is one of the earliest established and largest in China. It has several nationally well-known bone tumor specialists, and is in the leading level in the standardized and comprehensive treatment of malignant tumors of limbs (such as osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and chondrosarcoma), resection and reconstruction of pelvic tumors, total spine resection of spinal tumors, 3D printed prosthesis for reconstruction of bone defects and minimally invasive treatment of bone tumors. The bone tumor team has set up a multidisciplinary team covering medical oncology, radiology, pathology and radiotherapy etc., aiming to provide standardized and precise treatment for bone and soft tissue tumor patients from a multidisciplinary approach with individualized, precise and professional services.
