Collaboration Agreement Signed Between SAHZU, University Eye Clinic of University of Heidelberg and EuroEyes

On July 27, SAHZU on behalf of its Eye Center, University Eye Clinic of the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg, and EuroEyes sign on an agreement on a series of collaborative programs. Representatives of the three parties attended the ceremony.

The collaboration will support ophthalmologists from both countries to have clinical and/or academic training at the counterpart institution. The goal of the training is to improve the international competency of both Chinese and German ophthalmologists by leveraging their own clinical advantages. The three parties also agree to explore potential cooperation in joint scientific research.

In the remarks that Head of SAHZU Prof. WANG Jian’an addressed, he congratulated the official establishment of Sino-German collaboration in the field of ophthalmology, and stated his hope which is the collaboration could bring “Chinese ideas, Chinese innovation, and Chinese experience to the world” by bridging China and Germany, even Europe and the world.

Prof. Gerd U. Auffarth on behalf of the University Eye Clinic of the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and Dr. Jørn S. Jørgensen on behalf of EuroEyes expressed their good wishes to the collaboration in their remarks.

Established in 1868, University Eye Clinic of the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg is one of the most renowned and oldest Eye Hospitals in Germany.
