The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, founded in 1947, is rightfully regarded as the cradle of dental implantologists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Zhejiang Province. The Department is one of the national benchmarks for implant dentistry, oral and maxillofacial oncology, trauma and reconstructive surgery. Everyday, its 28 faculty members serve patients with state-of-the-art expertise.
It focuses on the functional reconstruction of defect caused by oral and maxillofacial malignant tumor surgery with various kinds of free flaps, replacement of temporomandibular joint, orthognathic surgery of craniofacial deformity, as well as the radical surgery of oral-maxillo-cranio-facial tumor in the recent years.
The Department has a total of 82 beds in Jiefang and Riverside campuses, 10 comprehensive dental units, 4 sets of dental surgery power systems, and other advanced equipment including arthroscope, sialendoscopy, navigation system etc.
