The Department of Thoracic Surgery focuses on the surgical therapy of thoracic neoplasm, especially lung and esophageal carcinomas. Recently, particular strengths of the department have included research a clinical procedures and basic background of thoracic surgery with VATS.

Prof. Wu Ming:
• PLD and pulmonary epithelium regeneration in acute lung injury (NSFC grant)
• Mechanical properties of pulmonary epithelial cell in acute lung injury (grant from Zhejiang Provincial Government)
