Xiao Wang is 24 years old, 170cm tall, weighing 90kg. He is a night person who enjoys staying up late, and not a fan of sports. One night, Xiao Wang and his family were having a reunion party, celebrating the holiday. Xiao Wang was especially happy at the banquet. He ate a large amount of BBQ food and drank 250-300 grams of 53-degree liquor. Less than 2 hours after the dinner, Xiao Wang started to feel severe stubbing pain in his abdomen with excessive sweating. Xiao Wang was immediately brought to the emergency room of SAHZU Binjiang Campus. After examination, doctors found that the amylase level in Xiao Wang's blood was as high as 1000 U/L, 10 times of the upper range limit. Xiao Wang was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, and quickly admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Re-visit the hospital after intense exercise

During Xiao Wang's hospital stay, he was told by doctors that he had hypertension, hyperlipidemia, abnormal glucose tolerance, gout and fatty liver. Xiao Wang decided to quit smoking and get rid of gluttony, overeating and other unhealthy life habits once recovered.

Just two days after discharge, Xiao Wang went into a gym where he worked out for one hour, riding bikes and weight-lifting, hoping to lose weight through exercise. However, the next day, Xiao Wang felt muscle soreness and pain over his body and his knees ache. He is in so much pain that he cried out in bed and couldn't go to work. So, Xiao Wang came to SAHZU again. The doctor told Xiao Wang to lose weight in science-backed ways, including developing healthy eating habits, and cultivating and keeping a habit of exercise step by step. Spontaneous intense exercise like what Xiao Wang did could easily cause muscle strain, or even rhabdomyolysis in severe cases.
