Chronic or refractory cough

There are over 100 different causes that might result in chronic or refractory cough. We have established an integrated procedure to identify the pathogenesis and to relieve the suffering for those patients.

Normalized treatment and long-term administration for asthma and COPD  patients, especially those suffered with refractory asthma

The Asthma Club and COPD Club were founded respectively in 1994 and 1999. They serve to provide routine free care and health education to patients.

Rare and refractory pulmonary diseases

For cases of uncertain etiology, we have established an advanced team practice system to consult with the experts from different specialities. As a result, we have successfully dealt with some rare diseases, including pulmonary microlithiasis, pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, bronchial amyloidosis, lung-bronchial leiomyoadenoma, and lung histoplasmosis.

Whole lung lavage

The department is one of the few units that provide this service. The technique has been effectively employed in the treatment of pulmonary alveolar proteinosis, severe inhalation pneumonia and severe lung infection.

Pulmonary interventional therapy

The department has developed the technologies of transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB), transbronchial bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL), transbronchial needle aspiration (TBNA) transbronchial pollution resist brush and treatment of airway constriction with implantation of memorial stents.

Diagnosis and treatment of OSAHS in a multidisciplinary way

The department is equipped with OSAHS Monitoring Instrument which is the most advanced in China. We have also established an integrated evaluation and treatment system consisting of multiple disciplines, including Respiratory Medicine, E.N.T., stomatology, neurology, psychiatry and Gerontology. This system evaluates monitoring data and works out the appropriate therapeutic procedures.
