The Department endeavors to unveil the secret of aging so as to seek for better methods of health preservation for elder people. It mainly focuses on the research of senile diabetes, neurodegeneration, vascular aging, At the meantime, guided by the needs of elder patients, the Department also investigates into osteoporosis, chronic pulmonary diseases, and chronic renal diseases etc.
In recent years, the Department achieved a lot in research. 50 articles were published including 20 articles in SCI journals. It was honored with the 3rd prize of the Provincial Technology Progress Award by the Zhejiang Provincial Government, the Provincial Award for Healthcare Technology Innovation, and a few national patents.
