Clinical Research

1) A multi-center, randomized, parallel positive drug controled clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of glucocorticoid based iv. Human immunoglobulin (PH4) for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia and Bendamustine for the treatment of newly-diagnosed chronic lymophocytic leukemia

2) A multi-center, randomized clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of anagrelide hydrochloride capsules in primary thrombocytosis with hydroxycarbamide as parallel positive control Maintenance with or without bortezomib following autologous stem cell transplantation for newly-diagnosed multiple myeloma

3) The effect of bortezomib on the development of myeloma-related bone diseases

Laboratory Research

Dr. Xu Rongzhen:

1) Development of small synthetic chemicals using barbamine as a leading compound and characterization of their anticancer activities in vitro and in vivo.

2) Identification of key molecules of Shp2 signals on the plasma membrane of acute myeloid leukemic cells. We have demonstrated that over expression of Shp2 tyrosine phosphatase is implicated in leukemogenesis in adult human leukemia (Xu R, et al. Blood.2005; 106: 3142-3149). However, its mechanism is unknown. Thus, we attempt to identify key molecules of Shp2 signals and elucidate possible molecular mechanisms.

Dr. Zhao Xiaoying:

Molecular profiling of diffuse large B cell lymphoma and its clinical significance

Dr. Xu Yang:

1) Functional studies of novel p53-regulated genes

2) Experimental therapeutic strategy targeting metabolic pathway in hematologic malignancies
