The Department of Nuclear Medicine was established in 1970, which is one of the first nuclear medicine departments in Zhejiang Province. Dr. Yongshan Bao, Wuzong Shi, and Da Sun have served as department chairs in the past and have contributed much to the development of the department. The current department chair is Prof. Hong Zhang.
Zhejiang University Medical PET Center is a cross-discipline science research platform, which is established in 2004 and affiliatd to the Second Hosptial of Zhejiang University School of Medicine. Equipped with clinical PET scan, small animal PET scan, medical cyclotron, radiopharmaceutical synthesizing system and supporting basic laboratory to do preclinical and clinical research, the Center is a nuclear medicine clinical and basic research center, the only one to have both clinical PET and micro-PET in China.
The Center is strictly examined and approved by the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China.
