The Department of Otolaryngology was established in 1952. Today, the department has two inpatient wards and over 20 surgeons performing over 3000 operations annually.
We have special expertise in the surgical management of otitis media, cochlear implants, head and neck cancer surgery, and surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis. We are well known for the safe performance of complex procedures with satisfactory outcomes.
The department has been authorized to grant Master’s degree since 1981 and begins to recruit M.D. and Ph.D. students in 2006. The sole M.D. and Ph.D. tutor in otorhinolaryngology in Zhejiang Province is working in our department.
