UCLA-SAHZU Joint Academic Center for Diagnosis was established 2010, which later became China's biggest telemedicine center.
In 2013, SAHZU was accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Center Hospital and its Human Subject Ethics Committee and Clinical Laboratory was accredited by WHO SIDCER-FERCAP and American College of Pathologists respectively. All accreditations are effective till now.
SAHZU was again awarded 2 times the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology.
In 2018, Prof. Jian’an WANG, Hospital President and Chair of the Heart Center, was awarded the prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Scientific and Technological Progress. Prof. Ke YAO, Chair of the Eye Center, was honored with the Mark Tso Golden Apple Award by the International Council of Ophthalmology.
