In this decade, SAHZU was awarded 4 times the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology and recognized as a Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence by the former Ministry of Health of China.
It is also in this decade that SAHZU started to send out medical volunteer groups to assist people in remote regions in China such as Xinjiang and Guizhou provinces; SAHZU even start to send doctors to African countries. By now about 70 doctors have contributed to the healthcare in Africa.
