1990-1999

1990-1999

  • SAHZU achieved many “firsts” in this decade: the first minimally invasive cataract surgery in China; the first partial left ventriculectomy (PLV) in China; the first piggyback orthotopic liver transplantation in Zhejiang Province.

Professor ZHENG Shu of SAHZU was the first in the world who discovered 2 genes related to colorectal cancer.

A successful case of hyperthermic isolated limb perfusion and limb salvage on a patient with malignant bone tumor was also completed at the Hospital.

Our surgeons’ technique of hepatectomy by curettage and aspiration reached international standards during this time.

We were honored as one of the 'TOP 100 Hospitals' among all 23, 000 hospitals in China.
